Earn Money With Teachers Pay Teachers

There are many legitimate ways to make money on the internet. Setting up niche websites, freelancing, making it big on you tube, and blogging are all viable options. But one you probably have never heard of is Teachers Pay Teachers, a online marketplace for teachers to buy and sell lesson plans. Now, I know what you’re thinking, I’m not a teacher and how will this make me any money?

It won’t, unless you take the time to create some instructive materials. If you’re an expert or interested in a commonly taught school subject, Teachers Pay Teachers can be a great way to supplement your income. I am passionate about history. It wouldn’t be too hard for me, or anyone with access to the internet and Microsoft Word, to whip up a worksheet on say World War 2. All I would then have to do is publish that worksheet on Teachers Pay Teachers and wait for someone to buy my worksheet.

Now, I’m not trying to make this sound like a surefire way to make it rich. Like most internet money making gigs, you must be good at what you do. No one will buy a crappy worksheet or a lesson plan that isn’t properly thought out. Quality content is key. You will have to put time into making sure you are producing top-grade material.

But, the rewards are there. Just recently, it was reported that a kindergarten teacher who makes less that 30k annually make 1 million dollars using this online marketplace (you can read the article here). While this teacher is the only person to accomplish that, if you set your bar a tad bit lower, you may just be satisfied that your Great Depression lesson plan is paying the monthly electric bill.

One thing to be wary of, there are two different membership/selling options. The basic/free option offers a 60% royalty on gross sales and comes with transaction fees. The premium membership ($60/year) offers a 85% royalty on gross sales and has no transaction fees. I would recommend starting with the free membership to see if you have any success before you pay for the premium.

If this sounds like something you can do, or you would like to learn more, visit http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/ to sign up and start making some modest money.

Let me know about your experience using this service, I’m very interested in hearing your stories!
